Domain Management – PixelLegion Control Panel

The PixelLegion control panel allows you to manage your domains and subdomains efficiently. Clicking on a domain name opens it in a new browser window.

Icons and Their Meanings:

The domain is configured on the server but is not yet fully functional.
The domain is correctly configured and ready for operation.
An error occurred while processing the domain.
Edit Domain – Modify settings such as redirects, target directories, and configurations.

Target Directory and Redirection

The system displays the assigned target directory for each domain. If redirection is active, the system shows the redirection URL and the forwarding code used.

Security

The domain is secured with an SSL certificate. Hovering over the padlock icon reveals the certificate name.
Let’s Encrypt SSL backup is activated.
Automatic HTTPS redirection is enabled.
HTTP Strict Transport Security (HSTS) is activated.

Editing Domains

Domain Settings

  • To edit a domain, click the edit icon next to the domain name under the "Options" column.
  • The domain with and without www is treated separately. You can configure different content for the www version compared to the version without www.
  • The target directory is specified within the www folder. If the folder does not exist, it will be created automatically.
  • To redirect a domain externally, enter http:// or https:// followed by the destination URL.

Redirection Types:

  • 301 (Permanent Redirect)
  • 302 (Temporary Redirect)

To select an existing subdirectory within the www folder, click the "Open Directory Explorer" button, choose a directory, and click "Take as domain target directory".

CGI Settings

(This menu is available only if granted by the administrator.)
For CGI programs to function, the ScriptAlias directive must define the folder in which the scripts are located.

  • By default, scripts must be placed inside the cgi-bin folder of your target directory (e.g., www/cgi-bin/).
  • The "Custom Setting" allows specifying another folder within the www directory.
  • The script alias directory is not created automatically.

Security Settings

  • No SSL Certificate: The domain is accessible only via an unsecured HTTP connection.
  • Let’s Encrypt SSL Certificate: A free SSL certificate from Let’s Encrypt is issued and installed automatically.
  • Existing SSL Certificate: Select an existing SSL certificate from the drop-down menu to secure the domain.

Force Secure Connection – Redirects all HTTP traffic to HTTPS automatically.
Enable HSTS (HTTP Strict Transport Security) – Notifies the browser to always use HTTPS when visiting the domain.

Setting Up, Editing, and Deleting Subdomains

Creating a New Subdomain:

  1. Enter the subdomain name.
  2. Select the main domain from the drop-down menu.
  3. The subdomain inherits the main domain’s settings by default but can be customized.

CGI and Security Settings:

  • The subdomain follows the main domain’s settings but can be modified individually.
  • Security settings (such as SSL and HSTS) can be adjusted later by editing the subdomain.

Icons and Their Meanings for Subdomains:

The subdomain is configured but not yet active.
The subdomain is fully functional.
Modify the subdomain’s target directory and redirection settings.
Delete the subdomain – The system will ask for confirmation before deletion, but the assigned directory will not be deleted.
