File Manager - PixelLegion Control Panel

The File Manager allows you to manage files and folders on the server directly from your browser.

Main Features

Browse files and folders: Navigate through the server’s directory structure.
Upload and download files: Upload new files to the server or download existing ones.
Create files and folders: Easily create new files or directories.
Edit files: Modify file content using the built-in text editor.
Move files and folders: Move files or directories from one location to another.
Compress files and folders: Archive files or folders into a ZIP, TAR, or TAR.GZ format.
Extract compressed files: Unzip or extract archive files to a specific location.
Modify permissions: Set access permissions for files and folders.

Navigation

In the left panel, select File Manager.


Managing Files

Uploading a File

  1. Click the Upload button.
  2. Select the file you want to upload from your computer.
  3. The upload process starts, and the file will appear in the selected directory.

Creating a New Folder

  1. Click the New Folder button.
  2. Enter the folder name.
  3. The new folder is created in the current directory.

Editing a File

  1. Click the file name you want to edit.
  2. The built-in text editor will open, allowing you to modify the file content.
  3. Once editing is complete, click Save.

Moving Files and Folders

1. Moving a Single File or Folder

  1. Navigate to the directory where the file or folder is located.
  2. Select the file or folder.
    • To move multiple files, hold down Ctrl (Windows) or Command (Mac) and click the desired items.
  3. Click the Move option (from the top menu or right-click menu).
  4. Select the new destination folder.
    • A pop-up window will ask you to specify the destination folder.
    • You can manually enter the path or browse through folders.
  5. Click Execute Move to complete the process.
  6. Verify that the files have been successfully moved.

Compressing Files and Folders

1. How to Compress Files and Folders

  1. Select the files or folders you want to compress.
    • Hold down Ctrl (Windows) or Command (Mac) to select multiple items.
  2. Click the Compress or Archive option (in the menu or right-click menu).
  3. Choose the compression format (ZIP, TAR, TAR.GZ).
  4. Name the compressed file.
  5. Click Compress to start the process.
  6. Verify and download the archive file if needed.

Extracting a Compressed File

1. Extracting an Uploaded Archive File

  1. Select the compressed file (ZIP, TAR, TAR.GZ, etc.).
  2. Click the Extract or Unzip button (from the right-click menu or top menu).
  3. Select the destination folder for extraction.
  4. Click Execute Extraction to complete the process.
  5. Verify the extracted files and delete the original compressed file if necessary.

Modifying File and Folder Permissions

1. Changing File and Folder Permissions

  1. Select the file or folder.
  2. Click the Permissions option.
  3. Adjust the required permissions (Read, Write, Execute).
  4. Click Save to apply the changes.
